Finally a chair that fits a tall man. My neck isn't strained. 10/10.
We finally decided to gut our old, rusty iron patio set and go for something more modern and comfortable. After looking at local showrooms that wanted $5,000 for a full set, we took a leap of faith with the GRANDCOVE full conversation set (the 3-seater sofa, the swivel recliner, and both tables). It arrived in 6 boxes over two days.
I have to give credit to whoever wrote their assembly manual. It was actually easy to follow! My husband and I spent about an hour and a half on a Saturday morning putting everything together. The pieces are labeled perfectly. The sofa is incredibly sturdy, and that swivel recliner... well, that’s my husband’s new throne. The cushions are so thick (6 inches for real!) and they don't flatten out. I especially love the coffee table and side table. They have these beautiful metal slats that look exactly like real wood but without the maintenance of staining or rotting. The wicker wrapping around the table base gives it such a high-end, finished look. We also bought the matching rain covers, and they fit like a glove—very heavy-duty material. Last night we had our first glass of wine out there and it felt like we were at a 5-star resort. Best anniversary gift ever!
As someone who has spent a career treating patients with chronic back pain, I am hyper-aware of ergonomics in furniture. Most outdoor seating is a nightmare for spinal alignment—usually too low, too deep, or lacking any lumbar support. I purchased the GRANDCOVE multi-functional chair primarily for my sunroom, and I must say, the engineering is quite impressive for this price category.
The lumbar support provided by the plush back cushion is substantial enough to maintain the natural curve of the spine, and the 6-inch seat cushion provides excellent pressure distribution for the sit-bones. My wife, who is much shorter than me, also finds it comfortable because the gliding motion is so effortless.
Assembly was remarkably simple—no tools were required for the main structure, which is a significant plus for seniors or those with arthritis in their hands. My only critique is that the armrests are slightly narrower than I’d like for a "luxury" recliner. An extra inch of width would allow for a better resting position for the forearms. However, given the overall build quality and the sheer comfort of the padding, it remains the best value-for-money patio chair I have encountered in years. I’ve already recommended it to several of my neighbors who were complaining about their stiff Adirondack chairs.
I love that I can just kick my feet up and still swivel around to talk to my neighbor. It’s so versatile.
I don't usually write long reviews, but I had to share my experience with Grandcove. I ordered two chairs for our back patio. Now, the chairs... WOW. They are so incredibly comfy. That 6-inch cushion is like sitting on a marshmallow that actually supports you. My husband has chronic back issues from years of heavy lifting, and this is the only chair he can sit in for more than 30 minutes without pain. The high back is a lifesaver for him. We love the swivel and glide features—it makes the patio feel like a luxury resort. Even though we had a small hiccup with the shipping damage, the way they handled it made me a customer for life.
